This summer the residents of West London, and everywhere else actually, are in for a real treat as Irvin Leisure in partnership with the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham will be staging the first ever Shepherds Bush Summer Festival.

Sited on the wonderful Shepherds Bush Green this superb event will include music, dance, food from all around the world and of course a selection of family favourite fairground attractions from George Irvin's fabulous collection. This is a summer event not to be missed, and you may even be able to participate as there may be room for your food stalls or for you to get yourself on to the main stage in George's equivalent of Britain's got Talent. Hammersmith Has Hope perhaps or the Bush Babies Beat Them All, or, well, anyway visit the Shepherds Bush Festival site for all the details, and visit Shepherds Bush in July to have a wonderful day out!

Carnaval del Pueblo Festival

From: August 3rd, 2008
To: August 3rd, 2008

Date: August 3rd.

Tube: London Bridge

Bus: 47, 381, 453

Burgess Park gets into the spirit of all things Spanish, Portuguese and Latin American at the Carnaval del Pueblo.  Last year over 130,000 people turned out to watch the colourful procession of floats, enjoying entertainment from world class stars and Grammy Prize winners, such as the Rosario Brothers and Grupo Niche. The Open Salsa Dance Championship is held publicly in the open air throughout the day, plus there are market stalls, great food, and an electric atmosphere not to be missed.

The Carnival will kick off at midday with a lively and colourful procession from Elephant and Castle to Burgess Park, via Walworth Road, Camberwell Road and Albany Road. At the park, live acts will entertain carnival-goers from 10am to 10pm at the Main Stage, and the Andean and Brazilian areas. There will also be a salsa dance floor for people to enjoy their ringing moves!

Rip Curl Boardmasters Newquay

From: August 8th, 2008
To: August 9th, 2008

In sunny August you will find us down by the sea in beautify Newquay where we are thrilled to be providing rides for the Rip Curl Boardmasters Festival 2008. This is a competition for the world's best Surfboarders, and on the Fistral Site you can pick up a bargain in the trade village, have a beer or burger in the Foster's Beach Bar, and in the evening try and pick up tickets for the Beach Sessions music concerts. We will be there on 8th and 9th August, but the rest of the week looks fantastic too.

So it is not just our fabulous rides that will make this an unforgettable week, but also great entertainment and spectacle too. If we were not working there, we would go down ourselves! After all, what has Australia or Florida got for surfers that Newquay hasn't? Weather? No, it is going to be fantastic too.

Children's Festival Hackney Marshes

From: October 4th, 2008
To: October 4th, 2008

Parents For Children is excited to launch the Four2Go Race Series and Family Festival on Saturday, October 4, 2008.

Four2Go marks the 4 year countdown to the London 2012 Olympic & Paralympic Games. The race is located around the beautiful Lee Valley Park & future Olympic Park, with celebrations taking place at the finish line on Hackney Marshes. After the inaugural Five2Go pilot event last year, Four2Go aims to build on this success and expand the project by adding an inclusive and accessible Family Festival, featuring a FunFair provided by Irvin Leisure, live music and entertainment, sports events and a real carnival atmosphere for the local community.

Parents For Children is a non-profit foster and adoption organisation that specializes in finding loving homes for children with special needs. These children can not always find homes through the local authorities due to complex health issues, challenging behaviours and disabilities.

Four2Go reflects the work of the charity by ensuring that the whole event is accessible to people with limited abilities, with sensory equipment, accessible fairground attractions and non-competitive sports activities.

Admission to the Family Festival is free and the event is open to the general public, so come along and get involved with the local community to support a good cause.
